Flag Film Productions is owned and operated by Emmy Award nominated television photojournalist Stephen Joel Root. Stephen originally hailed from Minnesota where he studied film at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and was an award winning student filmmaker, with short films showing in film festivals around the country. After graduating he found himself working in Flagstaff, AZ as a photojournalist for NBC covering news in Northern Arizona for KPNX Channel 12 out of Phoenix. His photojournalism work has also appeared on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, The Today Show, and CNN.

In Flagstaff, Stephen has become a regular on stage at Theatrikos Theatre Company, where he has established a network of Northern Arizona's most talented individuals for acting, voice-overs, and original music composition. Stephen established Flag Film Productions in early 2009, and is currently in the post-production stages of Flag Film's first independent movie project "Unconscious", scheduled to complete in 2011.
